Whether newly pregnant or a new parent, the surprise death or inevitable death of your wanted baby can be a challenging time filled with mixed emotions. With your needs, wants and values taking priority, Jen can serve as a guide for walking through, grieving and living after loss. Jen has experience working with folks through miscarriage, induction termination, stillbirth and infant loss.

Abortion Doula

Abortion companion

Whether you are looking for a companion to bring you to and from an appointment, would like to be holistically supported & nourished before, throughout or after an abortion, a doula might be just what you are looking for.

Ending a pregnancy by abortion can be a complex experience, and is felt and lived by every individual differently. You deserve to feel loved and supported, informed in all your decision-making, spiritually sound and grounded, and nourished and enriched in your care. You deserve excellent, thoughtful companionship. - Molly Dutton-Kenny, Certified Midwife

Jennifer-Gillean-and-Teeny Tiny

" I felt extremely isolated after having multiple miscarriages, and didn’t have anywhere I felt safe sharing my complicated feelings about my experiences. Both online and in person Jen has fostered a safe space where I have cried, laughed, and felt able to share every thought I’ve had, without fear of judgement. Although we have been brought together because of our shared sorrow, she has helped me find more moments of joyfulness, in the midst of crippling pain. I wish this experience on no one, but if you have to go through it, I hope Jen is by your side."

My approach and services draw upon my diverse experience of supporting others from a place of love, compassion, and free from judgement. I have had the good fortune of studying with some amazing teachers.  Some of my experience includes:

~ being a birth and bereavement doula trained with Stillbirthday & Home Hospice Association

~ studied more than 30 hrs with Molly Dutton-Kelly as an abortion and miscarriage doula

~ studied with Stephen Jenkinson in his Orphan Wisdom School

~ specially trained as a Birthing From Within Mentor and Birth Story Listener

~ 15 years of teaching yoga and mindfulness practice

~ outreach coordinator with the Sexual Assault Centre of McGill Student Society
